Dear Partner,
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
This season of maturity, building momentum and receiving manifestations is full of good surprises from the Father above for those of us who are born from above. We are seeing the actualisation of these Scriptures literally every day. Hallelujah!!
17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
James 1:17 NKJV
19 Blessed be the Lord, Who daily loads us with benefits,The God of our salvation!
Psalm 68:19 NKJV
Last month, we travelled the road to spiritual maturity by looking at some of the signposts we see along the way.
This month, let us put our thoughts on momentum.
A kairos season comes with momentum. Long-standing visions are fulfilled in what seems like a very very short time.
Momentum is force or speed of movement; impetus, as of a physical object or course of events. It can be thought of as the “power” when an object is moving, meaning how much force it can have on another object. Momentum also means drive, incentive, zeal, raw passion, impetus.
Now, in order to build momentum in this season, a good understanding of zeal which is a synonym of momentum is useful.
Zeal means great energy or enthusiasm in pursuit of a cause or an objective:
Zeal: zelos (dzay’-los); heat, i.e. (figuratively) “zeal” (in a favorable sense, ardor; in an unfavorable one, jealousy, as of a husband [figuratively, of God], or an enemy, malice): emulation, envy (-ing), fervent mind, indignation, jealousy, zeal.
From zeo (dzeh’-o); to be hot (boil, of liquids; or glow, of solids), i.e. (figuratively) be fervid (earnest): be fervent. [Strong’s Concordance]
• A lack of zeal can put out the fire on a godly vision, dream or purpose.
15 “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot.
16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.
Revelations 3:15-16 NKJV
Hot is from the same root word zeo. They were tepid, lukewarm, showing little enthusiasm with no zeal.
• Zeal without knowledge can cause a godly vision, dream or purpose to be destroyed, perverted or ignored.
2 For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.
3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God.
4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.
Romans 10:2-4 NKJV
31 Then some of the officials of Asia, who were his friends, sent to him pleading that he would not venture into the theater.
32 Some, therefore cried one thing and some another, for the assembly was confused, and most of them did not know why they had come together.
Acts 19:31-32 NKJV
Zeal is best, however, when triggered by maturity as that gives it balance and it doesn’t become a fire out of control. A lot of followers of large churches have zeal without knowledge.
• Zeal is useful when there is a cause or objective. Visions and dreams and purposes can only be fulfilled when there is zeal.
11 This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him.
12 After this He went down to Capernaum, He, His mother, His brothers, and His disciples; and they did not stay there many days.
13 Now the Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
14 And He found in the temple those who sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers doing business.
15 When He had made a whip of cords, He drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen, and poured out the changers’ money and overturned the tables.
16 And He said to those who sold doves, “Take these things away! Do not make My Father’s house a house of merchandise!”
17 Then His disciples remembered that it was written, “ZEAL FOR YOUR HOUSE HAS EATEN ME UP.”
John 2:11-17 NKJV
17 The disciples then remembered that the Scriptures say, “My love for your house burns in me like a fire.”
John 2:17 CEV
17 When this happened, the followers remembered what was written in the Scriptures: “My strong love for your Temple completely controls me.”
John 2:17 NCV
17 When this happened, his followers remembered what was written in the Scriptures: “My strong devotion to your Temple will destroy me.”
John 2:17ERV
17 And his disciples remembered, that it is written: The zeal of thy house hath devoured me.
John 2:17 (from The New Testament: Translated from the Syriac by James Murdock)
This was the beginning of signs, the Scripture says. Jesus had reached the age of maturity and stepped into His ministry.
Had He not been in the temple earlier before He turned thirty and seen the money changers merchandising?
Why didn’t He do anything then? As He entered maturity, His due season, His momentum was triggered.
Partner, I pray that these three powerful statements about zeal will cause you to arise and stir up the embers of any
dying fires again in you!!

9 Then they said to one another, “We are not doing right. This day is a day of good news, and we remain silent. If we wait until morning light, some punishment will come upon us. Now therefore, come, let us go and tell the king’s household.”
10 So they went and called to the gatekeepers of the city, and told them, saying, “We went to the Syrian camp, and surprisingly no one was there, not a humansound — only horses and donkeys tied, and the tents intact.”
11 And the gatekeepers called out, and they told it to the king’s household inside.
2 Kings 7:9-11 NKJV
