My testimony is about how my God protected me during the pregnancy and delivery of my fourth son. After having my third son, I decided that I would not have any child until after five years. However, I suddenly discovered I was pregnant. I became confused as to how I was going to cope with the three boys, school run and the stress of bad roads because of where we are staying.
After much thought, I decided to trust God for better days ahead. I kept confessing the Word of God that says, “The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it” (Proverbs 10:22) and “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning” (James 1:17). So, as bad as the road was, I believed God that there would be no loss.
In my ninth month, when it was time for the baby to come, we left for the hospital by 12:00 a.m. When the pain was much, I sang a song that God had put in my heart and the glory of God moved around me.
Later, when I was in the delivery room, my water broke. I told my husband to call the matron on duty for me. She came and immediately asked me to push, but I could not. The matron encouraged me to push, and when I did, the heels of the baby came out first and they were covered in blood. The matron was very shocked and immediately called the gynecologist. However, before he came, I had already delivered.
For some reasons unknown to me, by the time the baby came out from the womb he had turned blue. I turned my face away when they brought him out and did not say a word because I knew in my heart that God is faithful. After a while, to the glory of God, the baby came back to life and began to cry. I gave God all the praise.
This was a baby my husband was told had died. This was the baby whose face was covered in blood. This was the baby I saw turn blue but God gave him life. God is faithful and will always see us through any situation, any time, any day. I will praise and worship Him for the rest of my life.
